Last night we stopped by the library. They had a shelf of books wrapped in paper called "blind date with a book". With their check-out system you dont' have to have access to a code or anything, so you just pick a package and check it out then find out when you open it up. I got a book about 51 ways to not contribute to global warming - on a budget (After this winter?! bring on a little warming!) and a western novel. I read the first 50ish pages of the novel last night. I've found a couple of fun new authors through surprise methods like this in the past. This is not one of those times. I enjoy a good western, usually settling with a good solid Louis L'amour. This guy makes Louis L'Amour sound like Shakespeare. As I was closing the book last night I literally turned to the back of the book to re-read the blurb back there to see if that would let me in on what the plot was supposed to be. This blind date was a bust. via Facebook
