I just made what is probably the ugliest, most fallen apart cake of my baking career since some of my cakes around age 8-10. Perhaps this means I should hide it in the closet and eat it alone? It's an insanely rich, dark, moist chocolate cake with classic chocolate french buttercream frosting. (You know the one, Asplunds.) I neglected to put parchment in the bottom of the pans, though I did grease and dust them. Also, patience is always an issue for me and getting cakes properly cooled. Considering that cake and frosting together contain a full pound of butter, it's much tastier than it looks. via Facebook
