We're watching some old episodes of The Amazing Race. On the current challenge one of the contestants is ticked off by his brother. He raised his hand and certainly flipped the bird, but the camera cut his hand out of the frame. Michael and I both kinda chuckled because of the selective shot. Sabrina says "oh, he did this didn't he!" and signed 'thumbs up'. Yup. I'm sure that's what he actually did. That's my positive girl :D via Facebook

Yesterday afternoon I was so very exhausted I thought I'd lie down for 20 minutes or so before Michael got home from work. That was about 4pm. He woke me up at 9 to take my nighttime meds. I guess I really needed 15 hours of sleep! via Facebook

This morning Sabrina told me about a story she's writing. It's called "Kitten Adventure". Sabrina told me: "To make a long story short, it's about a girl named Katie whose parents have both died. Her father was murdered and her mother was caught in a fire. But then she finds out that they are still alive, so she goes into the forest to find them." Sounds like an edge-of-the-seat sort of story to me! I don't know yet how a kitten is involved, but I bet it will be interesting. via Facebook

Seriously ticked off at Walgreens. Just was called by a pharmacy tech who says we have to bring in papers to prove that we hadn't "taken medication without paying for it". When Michael took umbrage at someone saying we stole from them she got all huffy because she "never used the word 'stole'". THEY screwed up their computer entries somehow on one of my medications and keep trying to give it to me again. Never mind that because we're HONEST we didn't fill the controlled substance (kept in a safe -- don't bother coming to steal it ;) ) twice. And yes, we already paid $400 for it the first time! If they were any less convenient, or if they don't straighten this out, then some other lucky pharmacy gets our business. We practically pay for one part time employee on our own. (Well, perhaps not quite literally...) Well, okay, the pharmacist called personally now and *might* be able to figure it out himself. At least he handled it better and seems to understand that it wouldn't actually be possible, without doing something pretty tricky, to take the medication without paying for it first. GRRRRRRRRRRRRr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (okay, end rant. here at least ;) ) via Facebook

Sabrina is dressed as a ninja this afternoon. Black soccer shorts, black tee shirt (inside out and backward, of course), black sock (clean, I pray) wrapped around the bottom half of her face, black bandanna tied over her hair. After running around for a while she disappeared, then came back with a pair of Daddy's black socks on her, pulled up to her knees. She said "I thought it would be more secret to have black legs too instead of these tan colored skinny things.". Then she said "Listen to this, Mom!" and ran across the house and back. "See? You don't even know I'm here." (In a very sneaky tone of voice). The whole thing is highly entertaining. via Facebook

Most unique spelling I've seen today (written by an adult! on Pinterest): aqward. Yes, it was supposed to be "awkward", and no, you don't see many type-o's using the letter "q" since it's a left-hand-pinky key. I remember pondering the mystery of how to spell that word, but I'd never considered "a-q-w". And yes, I am easily entertained. via Facebook

February 19, 2014 at 08:35AM Gasp! There ARE Hidden Messages in Disney's Frozen!
This really fits most with my thinking: "For although Elsa’s song preaches “No right, no wrong, no rules for me,” that philosophy—like her frozen palace—ultimately crumbles when she realizes that her isolation has put her loved ones in danger. " There were a few things we chatted about regarding this movie afterward, like how sad and lonely she was without her family and without any rules. How dark life was without expanding talents. And how very important a sister's love is. All part of the normal chatter after seeing a new movie. I think there are multiple ways just about anything can be taken. What way do you choose? We have found a lot of great, inspiring moments through a variety of media, and learned many cautionary lessons from others' experiences rather than having to learn them first hand. Isn't that the point?

Happy Wednesday! My favorite heart warming pic is the one of a family -- the daughter's leg protecting her mother, the mother's arm out to protect the daughter... and the father with some really crazy goofy look on his face, lol.

Just baked rolled out pieces of bread dough in the waffle iron. What a way for a quick baked bread! The center of each square becomes crisp "crust" with soft bread between. It also hae great potential for holding butter and jam ;) via Facebook

As of today every kitten we have fostered (12 surviving) has been adopted into a forever home! (Okay, the last one hasn't been officially adopted yet, but she will be. I know, because we're the ones doing it). It makes me so incredibly happy!!! They're all unique and delightful, from the cuddly neck scarf kitties, to the playful toe chasers, to the quiet babies who gradually find their own perfect niche. LOVE it!!! via Facebook

I did not expect Saving Mr. Banks to be such a tear jerker. *sniff* I am not generally a drippy movie watcher, but this one had a lot more oomph to it than I'd anticipated. All in all, very well done, though. AND we never have to watch Tom Hanks pee! via Facebook

Guess what, people? It's not just rude to park OR SIT in parking spaces marked for disabled persons, it's ILLEGAL. Yes, even if you're in the car with the ignition running, you are still breaking the law. Utah has ridiculously low fines for the violation starting at $125, but some states you can get a ticket as high as $750 - $1,000 for disabled parking violations. Seriously. I don't care if you're just "running in real quick". Appreciate the fact that you CAN run and leave that spot open for someone who doesn't have that option. via Facebook

The girls are watching Lindsey Stirling's dub-step violin videos. Kate watched for the first time a few days ago and is now showing her sisters. There's a video that involves a great deal of rain. If you have specific morning and nighttime meds, it's best not to mix them up. No wonder I couldn't stay awake this morning! I do miss having had any sleep tonight, though. Or, since it's now after 5 am, would that be "last night"? At least it's been a long time since I last made that mistake. Must be time to re label things so it's good and obvious again. via Facebook

Today's lunch: steak. Cooked in the waffle iron, of course. VERY tasty. I used a super thin cut steak (about 1/4" thick -- carne asada cut would work very well) and cooked it just long enough to sear the squares on the outside and leave the thickest portions of the inside very slightly pink. Tender and delicious! Considering that I've cooked everything from fish and steak to omelettes and cake, I think I've pretty much proven that if you can only have one kitchen appliance (in addition to a fridge, of course) it should be a waffle iron. Anything else you think I should try to waffle? via Facebook
