Tonsillectomy, pt 4?-- Being admitted for the night. Sabrina is pretty comfortable right now, and feeling much better rested after a good nap. Her heart rate is running a little high, bp was a little high, and o2 is 94ish. They'll keep monitoring and will administer oxygen as necessary over night then see how she's doing. Tonsillectomy, breaking news-- Oh, the joys! Oxygen levels keep dropping way too low. They used another machine to measure things for a while, tried going back to room air, and she's dipping again. 😯 Post op usually lasts 30-60 minutes and we're past that now. They'll keep her until she can sleep with decent oxygen levels, or until they decide to discharge her with o2 for a bit. A little concerning, but grateful they're watching so carefully. Alarm just went off again with o2 at 86 while already on oxygen, so this may be an even longer day. via Instagram http://ift.tt/2nOE3Xh

Took myself on a date tonight to see the Doctor Who Christmas special in the theater. I'm behind quite a bit since I haven't found a place to watch recent seasons. I have seen all the of the old episodes, though, and loved the 1st Doctor recreated! Just sent Michael to drive, Kate to nurse, and Sabrina to be the special guest star at the emergency room tonight. She cut her finger on a rotary cutter (think of a razor sharp pizza cutter style slicer for fabric). It's not a very long cut, bit is nasty-deep and wouldn't stop bleeding. Too bad the instacare closed already for the night. I told her she can't die violently anytime soon or forensics would have a field day with me. Before someone handed me paper towels my hand was full of blood. My ring got covered in it and it overflowed onto my chair. Poor girl is panicking, but at least just this morning we stocked up Kate's first aid kit so she had all the gauze, tape, alcohol wipes, etc. quickly at hand! via Instagram http://ift.tt/2l1zV42
