My Lizzard was a little more anxious of the lizard fun. She was afraid she'd somehow hurt one, apparently. via Instagram http://ift.tt/2wbWgUT

Oops. I was trying to flick a piece of squash away from the gas burner since Kate had just scrubbed the stove perfectly clean. Bright light suddenly near my face... and that's fire. Lots of fire. Fortunately I am a wind player and had it blown out by the time I could turn around toward the sink. Breathing in burned hair is hard on the lungs, and rather than a kitchen smelling richly of dinner it stinks of burned hair. Mmmmmm, tasty. Guess I'll be getting my hair cut this week! It was braided over my shoulder so I'm not sure yet how far up the damage goes. I probably lost 2" off the very end in second or two. via Instagram http://ift.tt/2wKHb9R

We've been doing crazy amounts of work around the house this summer. I snuck this picture of these girls after we'd removed the old furniture and had the carpets cleaned, but before we had the new furniture delivered. It did my heart good walking past and seeing these sisters sitting side by side in an empty room watching a show in the tv balanced on the hearth and taking. via Instagram http://ift.tt/2fz2wyH
