Today was SUCH a Monday. Which is extra unfortunate since it was actually Tuesday. I wanted some extra sleep, but got the girls up and off to school. The friend drama inherent with Jr. High seems to have calmed again (yay), but then Kate texted to say she'd forgotten to bring her yearbook and it was yearbook signing day. So I got the other girls off then got dressed (in REAL clothes!) to take that to her. I got home and had a call from Lizzie saying her sandal had broken. So I found another pair of shoes for her and took those to the elementary school. In my "What a Monday" mentaily I drove out to WalMart to buy some more popcorn. In the middle of the store my phone reminded me it's actually TUESDAY and I was supposed to be visiting someone in 10 minutes. I was only 5 minutes late. Then I got home and finally called my urologist to see about a urinalysis. They got me in today...and sure enough, I have an infection. No antibiotics until they get the culture back on Thursday. From where the pain is and previous experience it seems to be up pretty high more like a kidney infection than a polite little bladder infection. So I stopped at the bakery and got a small cinnamon pull-apart on my way home. Because sheesh, what a "Monday"! via Facebook

Sabrina (watching the beginning of Captain America: Winter Soldier): "They need to make a man bra. His [Cappy's] shirt is WAY too tight. You can see a whole lotta everything through that!" Me: [snaughing: snort-laughing] via Facebook

Delightful day doing an engagement shoot. Frustrating day starting with 1 child vomiting and a sickish hubby and ending in 2 vomiting children, 1 nauseous child, and 1 nauseous hubby. Exhausting day all around. Time for bed! No, it's not quite 6pm yet, but I'm calling it. via Facebook

It must be Monday! I got a call just after the two young'ns got to school from one saying she forgot her lunch. I was just thinking through excuses for her to have school lunch so I wouldn't have to go out when the other called to say she'd forgotten something for a special activity today. Fine. Girls win! via Facebook

My cousin came across and shared it and it really seems to fit. May all women be strengthened and supported this Mother's day, in all their walks of life: The Wide Spectrum of Mothering by Amy Young " To those who gave birth this year to their first child—we celebrate with you To those who lost a child this year – we mourn with you To those who are in the trenches with little ones every day and wear the badge of food stains – we appreciate you To those who experienced loss through miscarriage, failed adoptions, or running away—we mourn with you To those who walk the hard path of infertility, fraught with pokes, prods, tears, and disappointment – we walk with you. Forgive us when we say foolish things. We don’t mean to make this harder than it is. To those who are foster moms, mentor moms, and spiritual moms – we need you To those who have warm and close relationships with your children – we celebrate with you To those who have disappointment, heart ache, and distance with your children – we sit with you To those who lost their mothers this year – we grieve with you To those who experienced abuse at the hands of your own mother – we acknowledge your experience To those who lived through driving tests, medical tests, and the overall testing of motherhood – we are better for having you in our midst To those who are single and long to be married and mothering your own children – we mourn that life has not turned out the way you longed for it to be To those who step-parent – we walk with you on these complex paths To those who envisioned lavishing love on grandchildren -yet that dream is not to be, we grieve with you To those who will have emptier nests in the upcoming year – we grieve and rejoice with you To those who placed children up for adoption — we commend you for your selflessness and remember how you hold that child in your heart And to those who are pregnant with new life, both expected and surprising –we anticipate with you This Mother’s Day, we walk with you. Mothering is not for the faint of heart and we have real warriors in our midst. We remember you." via Facebook

Went to the movies this afternoon. Saw previews for Jurassic Park, James Bond, Mission Impossible, and Star Wars. Ladies and Gentlemen... there seems to be a wormhole at the Megaplex. via Facebook
