Daddy: "Since you girls can't decide together on a movie to watch, I get to choose." [after looking through movies] Daddy: "Fine, we're going to watch Condorman! One of the most awful movies that I love. It was one of my favorite movies of all-time as a kid." Lizzie: "Is it in color?!?!" via Facebook

These are some SERIOUS icicles! Michael did chip a path to the front door (under the smaller icicles) this morning, in case anybody DID come to our house. These are building up really quickly. The shorter one was this morning (about 10am) and the longer one was this afternoon (about 4:30pm). via Facebook

I tried walking to the side if the house today -- too bad I can't find the measuring stick, we have at least a foot of snow. then I went inside and sat by the fire, the way one ought to on a day that includes snow. via Instagram http://instagr.am/p/T2ecBjhLXU/

Michael and I are both sitting here in the family room, directly across from eachother, both with out laptops out. The girls are wandering and visiting and playing some air hockey, etc. Daddy and the girls are also watching some Batman cartoons. I have earphones in listening to a well modulated voice performing an audiobook. About every 4.5 seconds one of the girls has a question or comment. EVERY SINGLE TIME they come to me. EVERY SINGLE TIME Daddy could have done the exact same thing. He thinks it's pretty funny. I think I'm loosing the thread of this book! No, I dont' usually sit with the family with my ears stuffed with a book. The action cartoon + air hockey is really rough on the poor noggin. So instead of hiding alone I chose a soothing audiobook. Now every time they come to me instead of pulling an earbud out I just point to Daddy :P via Facebook

Sabrina's latest (she has been SO entertaining lately): she is supposed to be cleaning up the downstairs hall, including under the coat hooks, which tends to get piled up over time. She just told me she intends to sort the stuff she pulled out by color. I suggested it would be more efficient to sort by the room she needs to put it away in or at least by who it belongs to. I'm not entirely sure I convinced her. via Facebook

this is looking over the porch roof. I don't know if it's the type of snow, super cold temperatures, or visual disturbances from the migraine, but this snowscape seems particularly glittery tonight. or maybe someone in the neighborhood dumped glitter everywhere? whatever, it's Purty. via Instagram http://instagr.am/p/T0BuFLBLUG/

I've been huddled by the fireplace the last few days watching non-stop snow come down. As I've watched the snow engulf the neighborhood I started to wonder about crankiness about snow. It's so pretty! The kids are so happy playing in! It's been so relaxing, and the icicles forming are spectacular. This this evening I had to run a few errands: post office, library, Dollartree, Sam's Club, pharmacy, Little Ceasars (because I wasn't going to be cooking after all that!). I remember what's holding me back from an unbridled love of snow. It's only three letters long: i-c-e. Hate it. Just as the sun was headed down late this afternoon there was a break in the clouds. The sun reflecting off the mountains was dazzling. And melted *just* enough to lay down a solid layer of ice EVERYWHERE. I have a particular paranoia of ice, and after my ankle break a few years ago it got worse. Then with this fibromyalgia junk it's even worse. HATE IT. A LOT. I cannot shovel the drive, so it is pretty well buried. I was able to pull out okay this evening (deep enough that I left lined pressed in by the undercarriage) but when it came time to pull back in I almost didn't make it. Therefore: I will not be leaving home again until things are properly drably brown. Or at least the sidewalks and roads are dry. Feel free to visit if you miss me. Call ahead if you expect me to not be wearing footie pajamas, regardless of the time of day. via Facebook

Something fun for the kids? "Like" NORAD Tracks Santa. Santa is already on his trip around the world! About 10 minutes ago he crossed the Congo in Africa! We have a world map on the wall down here and I just read off all the stops Santa has taken so far while the girls found each place on the map. Burundi, Greece, Lithuania, St. Petersburg, Djibouti, etc. Now they're getting on to Google Earth to look more closely :) via Facebook

Sad story: Michael and I are being kicked out of nursery :( We've been helping in the nursery class at church for the last 1 1/2 years we've lived here. Before we moved here we did the same thing. I've been in nursery for about 5 1/2 years running, and I'm really going to miss it. Now I will be helping with Activity Days again (8-12 year old girls twice monthly activity) and Michael will be helping the 11 year old boy scouts (at least they don't go camping!). via Facebook

hubs dropped K, S, and me off at Walmart to do some family Christmas shopping while he took L to the instacare to be checked out (suspected strep). we finished and they were nowhere close to done, so he suggested we walk across the parking lot to fantastic sams so K and I could get our hair trimmed. problem: s had left her coat in the van. K immediately offered to share her coat. they each had one sleeve and wrapped the other arm around each other. the topper? then they each grabbed one of the shopping bags, and K took my purse because they didn't want me to get sore from doing too much. via Instagram http://instagr.am/p/TkdMd_BLXq/

It's almost Christmas! Which means that Lizzie has almost completely lost her voice, and is in tears at the moment because she was playing around too much and it make her start coughing which REALLY hurts. Poor kiddo! We're awfully good at changing holiday plans at the last minute, though. LOTS of experience ;) Including last year's Christmas plans, 4th of July for a couple of years running, to name a few most recent ones. Michelle -- if we knew we had the same thing as your house we'd get together for a Very Sicky Christmas! Sadly, I think it's different. No use adding to the germs. We're dosing up on the throat oils and keeping our fingers crossed! via Facebook
