Took myself on a date tonight to see the Doctor Who Christmas special in the theater. I'm behind quite a bit since I haven't found a place to watch recent seasons. I have seen all the of the old episodes, though, and loved the 1st Doctor recreated! Just sent Michael to drive, Kate to nurse, and Sabrina to be the special guest star at the emergency room tonight. She cut her finger on a rotary cutter (think of a razor sharp pizza cutter style slicer for fabric). It's not a very long cut, bit is nasty-deep and wouldn't stop bleeding. Too bad the instacare closed already for the night. I told her she can't die violently anytime soon or forensics would have a field day with me. Before someone handed me paper towels my hand was full of blood. My ring got covered in it and it overflowed onto my chair. Poor girl is panicking, but at least just this morning we stocked up Kate's first aid kit so she had all the gauze, tape, alcohol wipes, etc. quickly at hand! via Instagram http://ift.tt/2l1zV42

So proud of my girls' hard work! Last night was closing night for the high school's production of the Cinderella Musical. Kate and Kaylee were techies on the official running crew. They've really enjoyed their theater tech class and put a lot of time in building, painting, amd working behind the scenes. They've run lights and sound 1au a variety of other performances and generally rocked the whole thing. I have loved seeing their confidence increase. 2nd day of school: I had one girl (poor Nina!) home sick today. Doc appt yesterday when she came home at the end of the day with a fever determined it's viral. Now I'm hanging out at the instacare for myself. By the time I dragged myself out of the house this afternoon to the urology office there were no doctors in! Grrrr. ... Between that last sentence and this one i had the most efficient doc visit ever -- major uti, as usual. Heading to my lovely Walgreens for my newest round of cipro. Thank heavens for instacare and antibiotics I'm not (yet) allergic to!!! Now to psych myself up for tomorrow morning's dentist appointment. I'm getting my new teeth put on! Oops. I was trying to flick a piece of squash away from the gas burner since Kate had just scrubbed the stove perfectly clean. Bright light suddenly near my face... and that's fire. Lots of fire. Fortunately I am a wind player and had it blown out by the time I could turn around toward the sink. Breathing in burned hair is hard on the lungs, and rather than a kitchen smelling richly of dinner it stinks of burned hair. Mmmmmm, tasty. Guess I'll be getting my hair cut this week! When you're frustrated at life and try to get to work, but instead make rage jam. 1 flat of strawberries plus only 2 cups of sugar is amazing. Hulling strawberries with an open sore on a finger stings, though! We may not be the best at eating healthy, but we love our low sugar jam!99% because it tastes so darn good, 1% because sure, it's better for ya. Well, that's horrifying. One corner garden was full of tall but pretty easy to pull weeds and I was sick of waiting for them to disappear and frustrated that I [physically] can't just fix things around here. So I took 20 minutes and yanked them out. Not only are my legs and back now spasming, but 90%oid the way done I discovered I'd already developed and ruptured a nasty blister! Ouch!
