I just very carefully added a second coat of spray paint to a project I've been working on. I even remembered to put a plastic sack over my left hand so it wouldn't get painted this time. I worked carefully, and didn't make a single drip or mess. I didn't even get any spray paint on my covered left hand! It wasn't covering very well, though. Just as I finished spraying the last piece, I finally realized what memories the smell was triggering -- sitting with Kate curled on my lap. Because when Kate curls her bangs she adds a little hair spray. Sure enough, I just carefully covered every piece of my project with hair spray instead of black spray paint. I just finished doing some spray painting in the great room (over a huge paint canvas). Ginger just came in. She is stalking the drying paint. She won't move any faster than a creep.... okay, now she is hiding behind an ottoman and peering around the corner at the drying items. This really is quite hilarious. Yesterday during soccer practice I stopped by the library and checked out a couple of new books and an audio book. I've got to get back into my audio book habits. Today I managed to make a curtain panel, (dang it, can't find the last piece I could swear I had for the last panel!!!), did two loads of dishes, three loads of laundry, ate two meals (I usually forget that part), and cleaned out my tub. I forget how much more I accomplish when I have a little bit of energy and a lot of distraction :-D via Facebook

Sabrina just came in and declared "I'm really tired and I need some snuggles." the last couple of years our routine has been to get the other girls off to school, then for Sabrina to snuggle up with me while she watched a show or something and I took a nap or read. This is interesting: Year to Date fires in Utah: 1,020. Acres burned: 422,112. (Caused by people: 553 fires 224,720 acres. Cause by nature: 467 fires 197,392 acres). Currently only ONE fire burning in Utah! It's 20 miles east of Spanish Fork (no wonder we've been so smokey here this week!) and has already been 100% contained. via Facebook

That was an impressive crack of lightening! It was prefaced by a 2 second power outage (just long enough to shut off all the computers.) for maximum effect. Now I can hear the rain pouring down. Yay! Oh. I guess I'm getting a massive migraine with aura. Perhaps that's part of why I've hit such a crazy wall of depression the last couple of days. Or maybe it's that the new meds aren't being effective. Grrrrrr. This is not how bodies are supposed to work!!!! (Of course, if I went with nature I'd be long since dead... so I really shouldn't complain). It will all work out in the end. We were listening to the Rascal Flatts song "Skin" (aka: Sarabeth) in the car tonight. In the chorus it says 'and her very first love is holding her close...'. Kate asked what that meant. I was rather confused and said "Well, he's holding her close to him like a hug while they're dancing" Kate: "OH!!!! Sabrina just came downstairs wrapped in a blanket. (She went to bed at least 2 hours ago and obviously had been asleep). Daddy: Sabrina, what are you doing? Sabrina: Nothing. Daddy: Do you need to use the bathroom? Sabrina: No. Me: So what do you need? Sabrina: I just needed to come and get the thing that I had for the thing and some stuff.... you know. We made it through our first night of soccer games! I've got to go through pictures (to spare you an onslaught of blurry soccer players) and do a proper post, but here are the highlights: all three girls had a great time. none of their teams won. Kate needs a new CTR ring. (wait for the post. Yes, this is relevant). Lizzie scored the only goal for her team (though there was at least one other good goal a blind ref threw out, but we're not gonna tell the kids that ;)) Sabrina can do a very cute handstand in the middle of a soccer field. via Facebook

I spent an hour and a half this afternoon playing a ball game (bocce ball) with groups made from all 5 first grade classes at the school. I'm exhausted! By the end I was parched and sweaty besides (very attractive, I assure you). I was chatting with Nina's teacher and she said "well I hope you get a good drink!" I told her I had some Dr Pepper in the car. Her reply "Oh good, you've got the strong stuff." Only in Utah would Dr Pepper with vanilla flavor added be considered a "strong drink" :P via Facebook
